11th Grade

Explore and think about life after high school.

Focus on Academics

  • Register for the rest of your A-G classes and a senior year math class to help you prepare for college math. Don’t forget to keep up your grades.
  • Take any summer school classes needed to maintain a C- or higher in A-G classes.
Important Update for 2020 Spring Semester: The California State University (CSU) will temporarily suspend the use of ACT/SAT examinations in determining admission eligibility for all CSU campuses for the 2021-2022 academic year. This temporary change of admission eligibility applies only for the fall 2021, winter 2022 and spring 2022 admission cycles. You can read more about admissions adjustments here. Grades will be more important than ever, so stay on top of your academics!
  • Plan to take the spring Junior SAT and/or ACT exam.

Explore & Plan

  • Talk to a counselor about the year ahead and discuss your ideas for life after high school.
  • Explore summer opportunities on college campuses and attend college prep events.
  • Start developing a résumé—a record of accomplishments, activities, and work experience. It will be an important part of your college and scholarship applications.

Get Out & Do Things

  • Explore careers that match your interests and strengths.
  • If you haven’t participated in many activities outside of class, now is the time to sign up. Consider clubs at school, team sports, leadership roles, or involvement in a religious or civic community group.
